- cause now I'm stronger, than yesterday -
Hello readers.
Just uploaded a few photos of WSC onto facebook for every to see. Mr Lim please please send us the photos cos I want I want I want. Thank you!
Okay I am suffering from emotional instability now. I have just come back home with the burden and stress and load of WSC off my back. Apart from that I have escaped being medal-less, and in fact come home with what I think is our school's only individual gold, of which, I am extremely proud of achieving.
I'll skip the events for today, cos it'll be rather draggy. Since this is like a more pour-your-feelings out kinda blog, maybe I shall attempt a little reflection.
Well, frankly speaking, I've been fooling around much for RE, and I admit that, but I strongly believe that even though the event is serious I must attempt to enjoy this experience as much as possible. After all, I wasn't going in to win, I was instead going in to prove that, hey, you know, I can study and attain some sorta standing at a Global event after all. Yeah, so it was more like of, proving to myself what I am made off, rather than proving to others what I'm made off. After all the one you want to beat is yourself, not others. I have achieved this, i believe.
Well, I started off in this competition as the underdog. Yeah so much for a 3.93 GPA but so what. I'm a curriculum person. I need like all the materials thrown at me along with step by step teacher's guidance. I'm not like some GE person who will dive into his own study world and understand everything and more than that in a week. I can't, neither will I do that.
But that's not the point here. You see this entire process has actually brought my attention to the importance of EFFORT. You see, the fact that I studied the guide for around 3 times over actually aided me throughout the course of the days. So it seems that hard work does pay off. I am convinced.
Anyways, I have also learnt the importance of creativity. You see, all this while I knew I was a quick-nonsense thinker. I know my mind is creative. I had always loved drama/play-based things cos that's where I get to put my ideas to use. So I flung myself into the question of essay immediately after I saw the words, "Be creative, (but be clear)"
Given that the question was about advising your future-leader, I based my entire essay on creativity. I took the essay as a speech I would have read out, or a letter I would have written to the leader. Throughout the essay I was like, "So, my empire leader", "Well then, my leader) etc etc and meanwhile throwing the points into the essay. So I guess, apart from creativity, I think I put in relevant content, and it was creativity that put me slightly higher than everyone else.
All in all, I think I have begun to believe in myself more after this competition. I've seen capabilities within me that I've never seen before. I seem to have got to known myself better in this competition. I've gained new friendships throughout this competition. I've stepped and made a mark in a global arena. I may not be a Nol, but I'm happy for myself.
Well then, now that competition is over, the next thing will be summing up and report. Whether you'll hear from me or not will be a different matter. Let's just hope, that I'm not the only one updating this blog on my own accord.
So, it's already Monday 12:05am. I guess I better log off.
Now, I'm stronger than I was yesterday.
Bong.

- harder. better. faster. stronger. -
Hello readers.
I know it is really dumb for me to post when there's still Scholar's Bowl tomorrow, but then again I thought it would be nice to keep track of stuff that happened today. After all, I found out I have already forgotten what happened in the morning when my mom asked me to recall events.
Well so today I survived through essay and MCQ and most importantly debates. I really really hope debate showcase for Juniors is cancelled tomorrow. I cannot stand more debates again. It just brings about horrible feelings in me that I cannot explain. Somehow, debates just turns me off.
If you ask me how I feel, I will tell you, I am mentally exhausted. I'm prepared to make sure I get maximum sleep tonight, so I'll keep this post short. I'm not allowed to share questions, so I won't, but I think there's something funny because Nol's (I don't want to spell his surname) name appeared in the MCQ maths first question, which was really cool. After all I think he was champion last year.
For today's post I decided to choose Kanye West's Stronger lyrics. Each time I post I try to think of some song to represent what I feel. Probably tomorrow you'll see something from Britney (NO NOT WOMANIZER.) if I remember, or bother to post.
While this experience has been fun, enriching and most importantly enjoyable, I am happy that things will come to a close tomorrow, for now I can relieve myself of the burden of DRA and curriculum guides, and I can finally concentrate on other things, and also enjoy my holiday.
At last I have conquered my fears of debates, and I have conquered my fears of mugging. Tomorrow there will be scholar's bowl, but I will not antagonize myself further by trying to absorb more because I am suffering from extreme information overload. Then again, as this blog URL goes:

- it's now or never. -
Hello readers.
As I am typing this now I can frankly tell you of the fear, excitement and anxiety is all building up within me and I cannot think straight now.
TOMORROW IS THE DAY OF THE WORLD FINALS.
You cannot imagine how I feel right now, but maybe I shall write something to let you know how I've been feeling all this while. This will be another verbal diarrhoea, but please PLEASE bear with me because after all, this is the final post BEFORE the world finals.
Well, so after a sorta telling off on Monday, I got to even more serious work and I've never took my hands off the curriculum for other work since Monday. But I really need to say something, at least get it out of me.
You see, all this while I've been surrounded by people who actually genuinely know their stuff, not people who actually smoke their way through like me. They can virtually absorb things they read after one or two readings, and they can memorise a lot. But for me, I've always felt dumb among everyone. Dumb because I try my best to learn, to memorise, use visual aids, use audio aids like reading aloud (and I mean aloud) to myself to help me remember, to help me keep it up there, but it just keeps sliding away from me. It's just like a full memory drive up there that cannot absorb anymore, at least quickly.
To just put it into statistics, I've read History about 3 times, and Visual Arts about 3 times as well, but then I still cannot keep all the information at my fingertips.
I think all this grumbling will not boost my morale right now, but at least I got something off my chest. I have been gearing up for everything tomorrow, and keeping my focus for everything tomorrow.
EVERYTHING I HAVE WORKED HARD FOR AND ALL THAT I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FOR WILL ALL BOIL DOWN TO WHAT HAPPENS TOMORROW DURING WORLD FINALS.
I hope, of course, I can really want to bring glory to the school and maintain last year's standards, but I'm not really hopeful about it. Frankly.
Since it's world finals tomorrow, I want to maintain a positive outlook when I leave my house tomorrow for the final dash. I sincerely wish that all I have done all this while will pay off tomorrow. I pray fervently to whoever might help me.
Tomorrow is world finals. Good luck to myself, and most importantly everyone. Tomorrow is all that we have been waiting for. Tomorrow is when we make a stand.
IT'S NOW OR NEVER.
JIAYOU!!!

- every step you climb another mountain -
Hello everyone.
I can't believe I'm still online at 11.43pm after the day of WSC Singapore Nationals. I am nearly brain dead but I still want to come online to celebrate, to groan, to whine, and to get a dose of verbal diarhoea.
Well today I basically went to everything with weak content, with only what I had studied yesterday in my mind and a few general ideas about Things Fall Apart, Sustainable development and Visual arts. In other words, I was not prepared.
Frankly I was extremely worried about the whole thing, especially the individual part because on the team part I can double check my impressions of the whole curriculum with people who had actually shoved the whole book into their head. Esp the essay bart I thought it was going to be some form of contextual knowledge question but it turned out to be something more like an SBQ that is 1hour, so I was pretty much relaxed about this. Maybe just teaching us how to organise and go about different forms of essays can help me.
Second part was totally screwed, to put it bluntly. You see, I went it with merely generalisations and impressions with a few concrete images of examples of case studies. And the test was so so specify I could barely answer the questions. I mean like how am I supposed to remember how Eugene Delacroix and Ozymadias are related. I can't just draw it out of my head and plunk in the answer, cos in the first place there is nothing from my head I can draw out from.
So basicaly I was attempting to answer the questions in the test seriously for about the first 45 minutes and after that it was entertainment for me because I had like so many blanks to fill. In order to get marks I decided to try, based on criteria, in order of consideration.
1) The commonsensical one, the one that stands out the most, the one that seems most probable.
2) The one that has not come out as an answer before.
The next criteria gets really ridiculous but it was how I guessed by answer when I was left with two choices after elimination.
3) Look at OAS, see the answer combination (ie how many are option A, B, C, D or E) and choose the one that has appeared the least (it would be weird for organisers to spam all answers as C or D or A or B or E)
But of course there were questions I totally knew how to do because they were rather general and commonsensical. As for Maths, even though we didn't have pre-preparations for the test, most of it was in my curriculum so I managed to weave my way through. Of course there were questions I was completely unaware off but I used the elimination and substitution and linking method to solve all those.
Part three was the debate, my greatese fears because I have made a pact with myself never to debate, but it seems that it has been broken. I'm glad we clinched both rounds, maybe because we were opp and jonathan was a confident and impactful final speaker. According to Adil Opp was also easier for both cases, so, oh well.
Part four was the super fun part because we finally got to communicate freely for the scholars bowl. Basically the dumb trend was that, often when we were clear about the answer and confident, we got it wrong, and when we scammed our way through by guessing we could choose the right answer. Also, we also managed to do the senior sections with some ease, so I was really hoping there would be bonus but there isn't, but oh well. We fell short of Ahmad's team by one point at the end of maths, although we managed to solve around half of the senior sections.
Well so now on to results. If you check my facebook status or my msn name you would know I have gained 2 individual medals and one team medal. Yea. I think you should know that I would most probably get the maths medal if i were to get one, and I did. Gold for Maths in the MCQ round. So paying attention to Mrs Chan and Mr Gary Chua paid off after all. I think if I told you the other individual medal you would faint, because I got the bronze individual for Sustainable development, which was more of a scam because I smoke my way through the whole section using more on common sense and prior knowledge rather than the real curriculum. So on a stroke of luck maybe I have made the right MCQ choices, and therefore the prize. The last one is a team essay prize, of which was relatively nice to receive as well.
Oh well, I believe if you look carefully into each post I make an effort to use a song to represent my feelings at that time. And this time I have chosen Kris Allen's "No boundaries" because the whole song by itself is very meaningful to me in this WSC journey. I shall put the lyrics up at the end of this post.
So oh well, I am having quite a headache and my eyelids are growing heavy, so I think I'll end my verbal diarhoea here. I won't post again soon I think, but watch out for the next post.
Bong.

Seconds hours so many days
You know what you want but how long can you wait
Every moment last forever
If you feel you’ve lost your way
What if your chances are already gone
Started believing that I could be wrong
But you give me one good reason
To fight and never walk away
Cause hear I am still holding on
Every step you climb another mountain
Every breathe its harder to believe
You’ll make it through the pain
Weather the hurricane
To get to that one thing
When you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you’ve almost gave up on your dreams
Then take it by the hand
And show you that you can
There are no boundaries
There are no boundaries!
I fought to the end to stand on the edge
What if today is as good it gets
Don’t know where the future’s headed
Nothings gonna bring me down
I’ve jumped every bridge and I’ve run every line
I’ve risked being saved but I always knew why
I always knew why
So hear I am still holding on
Every step you climb another mountain
Every breathe its harder to believe
You’ll make it through the pain
Weather the hurricane
To get to that one thing
When you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you’ve almost gave up on your dreams
Then take it by the hand
And show you that you can
You can go higher, you can go deeper
There are no boundaries above and beneath you
Break every rule coz there’s nothing between you
and your dreams
Every step you climb another mountain
Every breathe its harder to believe
Yeah, there are no boundaries
There are no boundaries
Every step you climb another mountain
Every breathe its harder to believe
You’ll make it through the pain
Weather the hurricane
There are no boundaries
There are no boundaries
There are no boundaries.

- flame on, watch you burn so bright. -
Hello.
It's time for another session of what Mr Janus Lim calls verbal diarrhoea, and I think this one may just be as bad. (i'm trying to use reverse psychology on myself here, let's see whether it works).
Right, tomorrow is going to be so damn sian for me cos there's DEBATE. I'm so so so so depressed cos once upon a time in my the long profile you can find in my blogs, there used to be the word "DEBATING" under the "what the pong" section or something to that effect. Yeah well, if you talk to me often enough there is bound to be a time when I justify my feelings. But I soon took that off after feeling uncomfortable that some random teacher from debates who all look so scary (esp the one in the movie) might come and whack me so I decided not to play with lady luck and just take that off. I'm humji you know.
Okay I was supposed to talk about DRA but lemme just continue.
Yep so tomorrow is so going to be like a stressful time for me because I'm surrounded by debating suanners and one with "identity crisis" (HERMAN XD). So I'm not really looking forward to that.
Right so onto DRA. I think the most interesting thing about DRA was that I actually bothered to camp in Lee Kong Chien Ref. Library to find print and non-print resources. Besides that appalling point I think I learnt like damn a lot from DRA cos I found out really cool stuff about things I can identify with (i.e. modern stuff and not random things like history, arts, or lit which I don't understand).
Lit sections and art sections are done. I think I've commented enough about all this in the previous posts..
Oh yea looks like the reverse psycho is working cos I'm ending here. Congrats on such a short post to myself.
Benwong.

- together we'll wonder if we will last these days -
Hello readers!
Yay it's Thurs so I decided to make a post update. I mean I think this blog has been dead for more than a week so I thought it would be good if I made a post now. Right, I just finished Science Practical studying then moved on to studying the Lit Poetry Part for WSC, using my all wonderful highlighting style to help me study more effectively.
Right, so how has things been going? DRA, barely. I mean like so much for print and non-print resources. I checked the HML the good stuff seems to be in RJ library, I check the NLB and they don't seem to have what I find, which i think it's retarded cos I'm supposed to be able to find them. But never mind, WSC has kindly provided some starting links in the curriculum guide and currently I'm still grabbing everything from there. I'm on page 2! of my DRA, not counting table of contents. So fast right >< In terms of coping with the load I think the Art last week was okay, only that Ms Tay had to leave slightly earlier so the session was cut short but we still learnt, so it's okay. Tomorrow it's going to be the logo bit, which I have to listen up cos it's my DRA allocation. And then still need to stay back after that from 2 15 to 4 00 I think. For Lit, which is why I refreshed my memory just now. I am just scared that this materials sorta pushed the Science Pract stuff away into the recycle bin, then I would have forgotten everything, and will fail tomorrow.
Okay, I don't think I'll make a long post. I'm struggling with work, facebook, CCA and DRA all at the same time so I'll stop here.
Thanks for staying tuned!

- and with every step together -
Hello.
Yes, this is another random post after week 4's RE lesson. YAY.
I think today was like the most productive lesson in months since we started RE. For once I didn't crack dumb jokes of any sort or informalize the session.
I can't believe I actually WAS PART OF THE DISCUSSION. I mean like for the past few lessons I barely understood a thing, for one it was art, and you're not supposed to understand art; and the other history, which I have a complete lack of general knowledge in so technically I couldn't catch any ball during that time.
BUT TODAY! I read the text, I read the notes, I answered the questions! I became smarter! That's good news. Only that Chng Jin just made me feel stupid again when he raised an IMPORTANT point which i didn't notice. at all.
Anyways, I think today's RE is very easy to understand. Firstly being that the text was easy to understand and relatively straightforward unlike To Kill A Mockingbird. Which is good cos then I can understand and square my IQ. Then again I think there's like a lot more I may not have seen. Given that I haven't seen Chng Jin's all important points. Which is not good la. But good news is there'll be a next Literature Session again. More questions to be asked, probably. Poetry is my downfall.
Today was a good start. Yes I think WSC is helping me. That's good. I think I'm the only person updating his WSC blog. Maybe it's because I don't want to start on my Confusing Confucius Project for Chinese (CCPC) X.X
This is another post meant for stress relieving and can be ignored. but usually it is these posts that I say sincere stuff amongst other nonsense. I mean I feel most sincere and at ease when I typed informally, like a real journal.
Yeps, so I better start on CCPC and japanese mugging while I struggle with the Art Notes again for next week.
YAH SO,
BUH BYE LORH.

- i should have started running a long long time ago. -
Hola.
I thought that maybe before tomorrow's doom RE I'd make a random post on this blog, in any case this blog is also dead so it doesn't make much of a diff if I just try and spice it up with this cool new cool post.
Anyway, I've been told countless of times that "By now, your seniors would have finished the curriculum guide." and things like that already. Hmm, been procrastinating. Speaks a lot about me procrastinating but I think I've made an achievement during the last 2 days.
Wednesday:
Checked email during computer studies XDD
saw Mr Lim's email (took some time to find this in my whole chunk of Facebook emails...)
"Please come prepared with questions about the text. You should be done with the material by now."
So I was like (exclamation mark!), I haven't even started on my lit section yet. And to think I spent the weekend reading up on Science and Art... Never mind. Yea, so I thought, GG.
Anyway to save my skin I went to the library to check out if the book was there. Oh and YES!!! It's a relatively thin book and I liked the way the front part was written = "written in simple English and easy to comprehend" Wonderful.
I will not past on the part where I malu-ed myself in the library. It was my first time there to borrow books after all (:
Today/Thursday:
Successfully finished the lit book and guide for Things Fall Apart! Yea I love it. No wonder third lang was cancelled on thursdays, meant for RE...
I have about 27 pages to go on the poetry section, will finish as soon as i catch a few more animal mouse in MouseHunt and double check my homework with the almighty Kei Jun (couldn't resist to put his name up here)
Must JYJY! Competition is like in 1 month plus but now the chinese Confusing Confucius project has set its big foot in so I'm dead (:
Okay this post is rubbish. Ignore it if you want :D

hola.
I'm back again.
Just in case you were concerned that up till now I have only finished Art (non-film), it's not the case. I've read a bit here and there, from Science to History, except for Literature, to add some spice into the readings I've read.
Hmm, that's it. I'm gonna email Mr Lim my URL now that this blog has two extremely long posts and this short one.
Toodles (:

CURRICULUM GUIDE CURRICULUM GUIDE!!! AHH >< I haven't finished it.
Never mind. I'll still make this post required. I have enough emotions running through me now as I do this post. I have just finished the art (non-film) section of the guide. I'm confused.
Before I dwell about the ocean of curriculum guide, maybe I'd like to comment on the introductory history lesson and the video sessions of the film "The Last Emperor".
My thoughts? Hmm. History lesson was more of like summarising part of the curriculum guide into a concept map and a timeline for a complete dumb person like me who hasn't got any general knowledge (this is real, I barely read beyond my syllabus ._.). At least know I've got a general idea of the history of empires in western countries and at least a thought and idea of what the definition of an empire is. I think I would LOVE <3 to have more of these kind of lessons, because it's really tiring for that tiny brain of mine to absorb anything that is in the curriculum guide.
"The Last Emperor". Showing the film is most probably the only area where I've got the most impression off. I seem to remember the film better, and of course the background behind it, given that the film is in understandable language and pictorial, which means that I don't have to put my lousy imagination to the test. I was thinking, arts doesn't really seem to play a large role in our guide, but then again it's the most "far away" from us, so will the competition place a tinee bit more emphasis on this part? Hmm, strategies.
"The Last Emperor" has given me an idea of what Chinese history was like. With emperor Pu Yi, the poor man who is trapped in the dimension of politics and war. And further down when another party takes over, captures him and then he is cut away from the emperor way of life. Maybe apart from just watching the film we could go through the supposed "intepretations" of the film that we're supposed to make. You know, sometimes I just don't get it.
Okay, I know I'm the one in the wrong here. I mean like I barely knew anything about this topic when I entered WSC and I feel like I'm dumb and something like that. I don't get much of the curriculum guide.
The curriculum guide is quite interesting at times. I mean I'm finding out things that I never knew existed in the world like the Versailles (is this how you spell it?) and how everything in this world from art to science to modern day architecture can actually be linked together. But the content, I must say, is sort of killing me. It's very difficult for me to digest. I read through it one day, and the next day I relook at the guide, I will ask myself "Have I read this already?" I think only about 50% or less of the guide is actually leaving impressions in me. So, YES, it is rather tedious and difficult for me.
Yet, I think I have found a way to help me in understanding, but it's rather time consuming. That is to pick out and highlight important words (to me, at least) as I go along reading the guide. Apart from leaving markings on where I last left my guide, it would help me to remember at a glance what one page is talking about, and then from there dig into the dying cells of my memory for the evidence and all that behind the key points.
Of course, the sight of the thick and wordy guide turns me off. I mean like I open the guide, and all I see is words. And furthermore, the thought of reading it and remembering the facts (or at least have an impression of it) is demoralising and horrifying.
Perhaps I would like to state abit more about myself here. I am weak in general knowledge, something that I admit myself. I had a barely vague idea that Adolf Hitler was one person when I was like in P6 (I thought Adolf and Hitler were different people). Talk to me now more about WW I, all I can say it was Germany or Europe against the Jews or something like that. Even as I'm typing this down I barely know if the above is actually correct. (are they the same people?).
More about me. I am a procrastinator. As with most RI boys. Apart from that I've been in training for nationals until last week (only to be told I would be reserved =.=) and I had about one week to catch up with my ongoing projects and assignments before I picked up my guide again. Yea, I wonder how Herman is coping. I know people like Chng Jin and J Lee would have probably memorised the whole guide by now, but I'm a very slow reader (I read about a page two to three times before I can understand properly and move on).
I feel like I'm very defensive and I admit I am. I feel like sort of "dumb" right now cos the people around me seem so smart.
On how anyone can help, or what more do I need, I think it's more of guidance and help from peers and teachers that will definitely help me, and also much simpler and more comprehendable content. I mean like in this year's literature text To Kill A Mockingbird, I barely understood much of the book except for the shallowest ideas but after like weeks of discussion and chapter guides with teachers and friends in class, I am sort of getting a rather good grip onto the book. At least I think I've caught up with the class, or even exceeded some, although I doubt the latter.
With guidance, maybe I thought I'd give a few thoughts of mine. I'm a verbal person, I don't like a question being stuck in my head when the teacher is in the classroom and I tend to voice out whatever that comes to mind to clarify. Weakness or advantange? I don't know. This actually means I may interrupt with shallow-looking questions quite a bit, but this little little questions actually accumalate to form better impressions in my knowledge.
I think I've digressed a bit away from the main part of this post, but I thought it would be good if I shared my emotions within me after trying to read and understand the Art (non-film) part of the guide.
Hmm. I'll stop here cos I needa prepare myself for tomorrow's Art WSC guide-lesson.
Thanks for reading.

- the first step into time. -
Hola! (:
I figured I should start posting for this right now. I am not sure how formal/informal I should be, but anway I'll post as i normally post. If things needa change then I will change it.
Mmhmm, so I need to write my "personal thoughts of WSC 2009" for this entry. I was thinking, since this is a blog and more personal stuff, I thought informal would be nice. Yups.
First of all, I didn't exactly sign up for this. I mean like last year during the intro talk about all the new REs we could take up I wasn't really interested in any one of them. I was thinking something like "I'm Sec 2 only, I don't think I should be so ambitious and keikiang (act smart) go and do then land myself into trouble." So I thought for sec 2 it would be nice to remain sorta "low profile" and just go into the normal RE procedures.
Then one fine day in term 1 Mr Lim appeared. Mmhm. So accordingly I was "recommended (?) to be in WSC". Yea and frankly, I was like "huh...". I mean like I thought normal RE was set for me, and I nearly got a group. But then there was like "just join la, i mean it's a good exposure" and that kind of thing and I was hesitating for like heck long trying to choose a mugging RE or more of a research RE.
(I just took a break from this blog to facebook and just realised my MSN was set to appear offline all this while. Nevermind, irrelevant. Let's get back to business.)
And so the choice? Obiviously if not I won't be on this blog anymore. Yes, it was a yes.
Considering why I actually agreed to this, I thought real hard about my choice. Why? Hmm. Still thinking. I think it was more like, "okay lorh, since this chance is thrown right into my face, I get to have more knowledge and exposure than KJ in certain areas, then why not. Yea, I think it was something like this. I mean like which nutcase would not accept such an opportunity. I could have been one, but I'm not. Good (:
Okay, what a long chunk and I haven't got to the second part of this blogpost. So what I actually hoped to gain from this? Frankly, it's in exposure and knowledge that some people may never get their chance to lay their hands on. Apart from that, it would be damn nice if we could emerge as winners (in any form) in this competition cos then I would be a world scholar! wahaha. Joking (: Beyond that actually I have to get much much more before I can call myself that. I need to learn how to debate. (hmm, remember that I dislike some debaters, or actually the debater's style?)
Yea but actually it's more of the exposure and oral skills that I'm putting my targets on. It's not very common that I actually dare to sign up for such a big competition. I don't have the guts.
But since I've signed up then I think it would be okay for me, given that the first few lessons have been enjoyable to some extent.
(okay, I know this blogpost is getting a bit long, but just bear with me. Usually my enthusiasm in blogging dies out rather quickly.)
Hmm now onto the third bit about my concerns and anxieties. If you know me well enough, I think you would know that I have a rather short term memory and I take lots of time to read and absorb anything that is given to me. Erm, I think this is my own problem but it may drag the team down. Anxieties is definitely about the competition itself. I know the vague format of the competition but I don't know how it's gonna be like. How tough, how competitive, how tiring, you know this kinda thing. It's a bit scary to think about this stuff. It's like "the future is vague" that kind of feeling. I'm not sure what my decision has got me into. I just have to wait and see.
My fellow group members are okay. I've worked with Jonathan for countless number of projects (since he's in my class and good friend) and I've known Glen for a good number of years since primary school. I think I'll be able to interact with them frequently enough. I see Jonathan everyday in class and Glen is also in shooting CCA.
I'm the only non-debater in the group. Something that is not very appealing to me, but this is rather trivial so its okay.
(okay, I'm not going to like the next part over here because I need to comment on my team members, which is not going to be very nice. Please, do not take any offence.)
Jonathan has a bit of ego (like me). He's a bit rebellious at times, given that I've worked with him in CEC and also normal academic projects. But he's good at what he does and he has the depth of the knowledge required. I think he's good to work with, just gives me some trouble at times. (:
Glen. Hmm, I've never worked with him. I don't know his working attitude but I think it should be fine. I think he's committed to his learning, which is good la.
Benjamin. I'm commenting on myself. Frankly, my greatest obstacle is facebook, time, sleep and my mother. I facebook too often for my own good and I want enough sleep. My mother doesn't like me to sleep at 12mn even though I'm okay with it cos I have to anyway. This can actually cause a lota conflicts.
Ahhh. FINALLY! Onto the final and last bit for this post: What is my ultimate objective for the competition? Fairly simple, just go in and do what I can, win or don't win it's still the exposure to knowledge and experience that counts.
But of course, who doesn't want to win?
Okay, so I'm at the end of my first post, relatively long and loh soh but that's me. I'm like an ah pek. Next up I have to submit this post along with another post to Mr Lim by this Fri 3 April but I don't feel like posting so soon about the next topic. Oh, and I HAVEN'T FINISHED MY CURRICULUM GUIDE. AHHH! ><
Okay, enough of your agony to read this post. toodles! :)
